ASSOCIATE DEAN OF STUDENTS
The Associate Dean of Students reports to the Dean of Students and has the following duties and responsibilities:
1.Coordinates and supervises all programs and services offered by the Counseling Office including academic advisement, placement testing, career planning, job placement, transfer counseling, disabled student services, personal counseling and bilingual counseling.
2.Assists the Dean of Students in coordinating the Campus’ enrollment services.
3.Supervises all professional and clerical staff assigned to the Counseling Office.
4.Schedules evening counselors for both, on-campus and extension sites.
5.Hires, schedules and trains adjunct counseling faculty.
6.Maintains articulation and coordination with the campus Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid and Business Offices to ensure coherent and efficient delivery of enrollment and registration services.
7.Coordinates grant-funded services that are provided by the Counseling Office or that may reside in the Counseling Office: Adult Counseling Project, Learning Disabled, CASSET/EDGE and others that may be created.
8.Act as campus liaison for the Educational Opportunity Program, maintains contact with the EOP administrator for integration of those services into the student affairs program.
9.Provides direct counseling services to students during peak periods.
10.Assists the Dean of Students in general administration of the Campus’ Student Affairs Program.
11.Assists the Dean of Students with such matters as tuition refunds, disciplinary matters, medical withdrawals, and disruptive students.
12.Represents Student Affairs on Campus and College committees.
13.Serves as chief Student Affairs officer in the absence of the Dean of Students.
14.Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students.
