ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AID
The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Enrollment Services. Responsibilities include the following:
1. Managing the daily operation of the Eastern Campus Financial Aid operation including the implementation of all federal and state programs, procedures and regulations.
2. Maintaining a working knowledge of all current and pending federal and state regulations.
3. Disseminating pertinent information to the campus community.
4. Monitoring and integrating the imaging system and training clerical persons in its use.
5. Coordinating the processing of financial aid applications, the determination and disbursement of awards, and SARA record management. 6. Performing internal audits of financial aid records.
7. Coordinating the development and implementation of a financial aid computer lab/resource center.
8. Providing appropriate supervision and professional development of a professional assistant and clerical and student support staff.
9. Preparing an annual departmental report that incorporates both campus-specific and college data.
10. Advising students regarding the type, availability and eligibility criteria for federal, state and local financial aid programs.
11. Assisting students in completing financial aid applications, understanding disbursement procedures and complying with college payment procedures.
12. Working cooperatively with the campus Business Office to ensure that students receiving financial aid are served properly and expeditiously.
13. Assisting the director of the Educational Opportunity Program and coordinator of Student Support Services with the verification of eligibility for students participating in these programs.
14. Performing other duties as assigned by the director of Enrollment Services.
