ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR ADMISSIONS AND COLLEGE COORDINATOR OF THE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM

 The Assistant Director of Admissions and EOP reports to the Director of Admissions, with consultation from the Dean of Student Services for EOP-related matters. Primary responsibilities shall include the following:

1.  To assist the Director of Admissions with the management of the Admissions operation, to include personnel-related matters and policy development.

2.  To assist Admissions with the recruitment, review, and evaluation of applications from prospective students, and the acceptance and processing of students. The Assistant Director will coordinate enrollment efforts which target the recruitment of students from under-represented populations. This includes the development of strategies which highlights Suffolk County Community College in the public and the campus community.

3.  To participate in the Admissions high school visitation program and the coordination of special Admissions events.

4.  To coordinate the college EOP program, including equity and access services and support programs for under-represented populations.

5.  To assist in the preparation and review of college publications utilized for student recruitment as well as the EOP program.

6.  To coordinate workshops which promote academic success for EOP students.

7.  To work with the EOP representatives college-wide to maintain a record keeping system for all EOP program participants, to include the preparation and submission of annual reports and planning documents and the annual budget.

8.  To facilitate an assessment and retention program for EOP students.

9.  To coordinate tutorial services for EOP students in conjunction  with the different academic learning center support labs.

10. To assist EOP students with exploring transfer opportunities  to four-year institutions.

11. To supervise Admissions and EOP personnel, including professional and clerical staff, and student workers.

12. To perform other duties assigned by the Director of  Admissions and/or the Dean of Student Services.
