DIRECTOR GRANTS DEVELOPMENT
The Director of Grants reports to the Vice President for Intergovernmental Relations. The primary responsibilities of this position include the following:
1. Investigating grant opportunities and developing proposals which respond to strategic plans; write grant applications as appropriate.
2. Serving as a resource for faculty and administrators in identifying external funding possibilities and in preparing grant applications.
3. Developing and maintaining an information center on funding agencies and opportunities.
4. Insuring that funding proposals are reviewed by appropriate administrators in order to insure that they are consonant with College priorities, that they address organizational issues, and that the budget has been developed with the involvement of the grants administration staff within the financial affairs office.
5. Publicizing grant opportunities to faculty/administrators within the appropriate area, and informing the College community of successful grant applications.
6. Acting as liaison with the major governmental and private funding agencies and maintaining ongoing communication with them.
7. Supervising staff in the writing of grant proposals and the design of projects, and insuring that applications comply with funding agency requirements.
8. Submitting abstracts for Board action on grant proposals developed.
9. All other duties as may be assigned by the Vice President.
