DIRECTOR OF ADVISING AND TESTING

The Director of Advising and Testing reports to the Associate Dean of Students and is
Responsible for coordinating academic advising and placement testing for new and
continuing students at the Ammerman Campus.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1.Coordinates academic advising and placement testing for new and continuing students.

2.Sets annual goals and assures that advising and testing services are consistent with institutional priorities and division goals.

3. Coordinates with colleagues to assure consistency and ongoing communication regarding admissions, advising, testing, financial aid, registration, orientation, campus enrollment management and college marketing efforts.

4. Works with Computer Center personnel to update and distribute the Student Advising and Information Notice (SAIN) to students and faculty.

5. Provides training and disseminates updated materials needed by counselors and faculty advisors to deliver high quality academic advising.

6. Supervises and evaluates counselors, clerical staff, and student staff assigned to the Office of Advising and Testing; recommends candidates for vacant positions to the Dean of Students.

7. Initiates improvements and collaborates with appropriate offices to increase the effectiveness of enrollment services, advising and testing procedures and information, and the recruitment and retention of students.

8. Proposes an annual budget and monitors budget expenditures.

9. Manages the Office of Advising and Testing, and the Advising Center.

10. Prepares an annual report describing goals, activities, outcomes, and highlights.

11. Represents the Ammerman Campus at professional conferences and meetings related to advising and placement testing.

12. Advises and counsels students, when appropriate.

13. Serves on College-wide and campus committees.

14. Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Students.
