College Associate Dean for Enterprise Resource Planning
Position Description
The College Associate Dean for Enterprise Resource Planning reports to the Vice President of Workforce and Economic Development and is responsible for directing, managing, and leading the operations of the ERP Project Management Office; serving as the chair of the ERP Implementation Team; providing staff support to the ERP Steering Committee; managing the project’s budget and implementation schedule; and serving as the College’s liaison with outside agencies, vendors, and technical consultants.
The primary responsibilities of this position include the following:
1. directing the efforts of the Project Management Office charged to plan and implement the Sunguard SCT Banner Administrative System;
2. providing leadership for the Banner ERP Implementation Team and working with the group collaboratively to manage all college staff assigned to the project;
3. serving as the primary contact with Sunguard SCT, SUNY, Suffolk County, and other external organizations relative to the ERP project;
4. planning, preparing and managing the project’s budget in coordination with the office of Financial Affairs;
5. managing personnel resources in consultation with college vice presidents and associate vice presidents to insure appropriate staffing for the duration of the project;
6. reviewing and approving commitment of budgeted resources for approved project;
7. verifying the accuracy of the Sunguard SCT billing;
8. developing and managing the project’s implementation schedule in conjunction with the Sunguard SCT project manager;
9. reporting project status and key activities to the Banner ERP Steering Committee;
10. supervising the staff of the Project Management Office;
11. reporting project status and key activities to the Vice President for Workforce and Economic Development on a scheduled basis and as needed;
12. developing initiatives that support the strategic plan, vision, and mission of the college;
13. all other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Workforce and Economic Development.
Qualifications:
Possession of a master’s degree in information systems management, computer science or related area and at least ten years of progressively responsible management experience in information technology including experience in large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning implementations. Additional management experience in end-user systems is preferred.
