College Associate Dean
The College Associate Dean reports to the Campus Dean on his/her campus and coordinates with the Associate Vice President for Curriculum and Instruction. Primary responsibilities are as follows:
1. To provide college-wide leadership and coordination in the following areas:
- Curriculum development and evaluation
- Program and assessment of learning outcomes
- Incorporation of technology and distance learning into instruction
- Preparation of new and revised program proposals to SUNY
- Approval of master schedule
- Course staffing
- Recruitment, selection and orientation of new full-time and adjunct faculty members
- Professional development for new and continuing faculty and staff
- Budget development
- Identify grants and external funding sources for academic programs and personnel
- Preparation of area academic materials for the college catalog and college academic publications
- Development of guidelines for the review of academic waivers/substitutions and requests for independent study and challenge examinations
- Program equipment, technology and facilities
- Review of academic program and discipline enrollment patterns and projections
- Give input to the campuses on evaluation, promotion, and reappointment of faculty and staff.
2. To provide campus academic administrative services in the following areas:
- Respond to faculty issues and student problems
- Supervision of campus faculty and staff
- Coordination of adjunct staffing
- Provide administrative supervision and support for the evening program through regularly scheduled evening hours
- Serve as building administrator if so assigned by the campus dean
- Other related duties as assigned by the campus dean
