ASSOCIATE DEAN FOR COLLEGE INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY

The Associate Dean for College Instructional Technology reports to the Associate Vice President for Curriculum and Instruction and has a primary responsibility to provide leadership and coordination in the use of technology in the teaching and learning units of the college. Specific responsibilities include:

1. Provides leadership for the implementation of technology-related strategic initiatives in the instructional operations of the college;

2. Reviews and evaluates’ campus instructional technology plans, associated budgets, and related position descriptions to ensure college-wide consistency and efficient use of resources;

3. Collaborates with campus-based personnel in arranging workshops and training sessions for faculty in the use of instructional technology;

4. Serves on the College Computing Council and on other instructional/technology-based committees as a resource person;

5. Develops draft procedures, policies, specifications, etc. designed to ensure a strong and cohesive system-wide use of instructional technology;

6. Assists in securing grant funding sources, and in arranging partnering agreements with private sector enterprises actively engaged in contemporary technological matters;

7. Provides direct assistance to campus instructional personnel in all areas related to the acquisition, use, maintenance and experimentation with instructional technology;

8. Provides leadership and technical support in the use of distance learning methodology,

9. Performs such other related tasks as may be assigned by the Executive Director for Academic Support Services.
